The repairs we do every week
- Doorknob and furniture holes. The classic. Cut clean, patched with real board, taped, finished — gone.
- Cracks along seams and corners. Usually the house settling. We re-tape them properly so they stay fixed. More at fixing drywall cracks.
- Dents and dings. Life happens. Quick fills, sanded smooth.
- Nail pops. Little bumps where fasteners work loose — common in newer homes. We re-fasten with screws and refinish.
- Bad old patches. Lumpy handyman repairs we skim flat and refinish.
How a repair actually goes
Small repairs take two short visits. Visit one: we cut out the damage, fit a patch, tape it, and lay the first coats of mud. Visit two (after it dries): final coat, sand, texture to match, done. Trying to do it in one visit is how you get a patch that cracks in a month — the mud was not dry.
When a "repair" is really a replacement
Some damage should not be patched. Drywall that stayed wet from a leak loses its strength and feeds mold — it needs to come out, not get covered. See water damage drywall repair. Big sagging ceiling sections and crumbling plaster are replacements too. We tell you straight which one you have.
Texture matching is the test
Anybody can smear mud in a hole. The skill is making the patch vanish: matching your orange peel, knockdown, or smooth finish so the eye slides right past it. That is what you are paying a drywall crew for instead of a handyman.
What it costs
Small patches often land in the low hundreds; bigger multi-room repair jobs run higher. The written estimate after our free visit is the real number.
A note on prices: material and labor costs move up and down, and no two jobs need the same work. Treat any numbers on this page as starting points, not quotes. Your written estimate after our free visit is the real number for your project.
